Matt Andress wasn’t always a financial planner. In fact, he spent the first two decades of his career serving churches throughout Alabama as a Student Pastor, Worship Pastor, and Head Pastor of a Church Plant. That season of ministry shaped his deep commitment to serving others with integrity, empathy, and purpose.
Almost 10 years ago, Matt made the transition from non-profit ministry to the financial industry. He began his career as a Life Insurance Agent with Liberty National, then became a Financial Representative and Partner with New York Life. In June of 2020, Matt made a pivotal move to Prudential, where he served as a Financial Advisor and Financial Planner. His motivation? To be “back in the trenches” with his clients—walking alongside them and offering hands-on, personalized guidance.
As Matt’s career continued to grow, so did his desire for greater opportunities to serve clients with more flexibility and depth. That pursuit ultimately led him to Convergent Financial Partners, a firm aligned with his values and vision. Blueprint will be closely affiliated with Convergent, allowing Matt to continue delivering high-touch, customized financial strategies backed by a strong network of support and resources.
Before beginning his professional career, Matt earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing & Business Administration from Troy University. He later completed a Master of Divinity degree from Beeson Divinity School, followed by a Doctor of Ministry degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, with a focus on communication and expository preaching.
Matt approaches every decision through the lens of Financial Planning. He thrives on helping people solve their biggest financial challenges and values the meaningful relationships formed along the way. For Matt, it’s not just about numbers—it’s about making a lasting impact on the lives of those he serves.
When Matt isn’t helping his clients, he loves traveling with his wife, Jaime, hanging out with their two sons, Hudson and Grady, playing guitar, restoring old cars, woodworking, and laser engraving. He’s also deeply involved in serving at his local church. Most recently, Matt has been helping his sons launch their own business—Bear Cub Customs, a creative venture that combines craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
